Default 2003 Subaru Forester XS Install

Well, here is the install on my 2003 Subaru Forester XS. This is the brand new Kenwood KDC X869 ($300 on Ebay). Excellent sound, and the Sirius channels sound fantastic. What you see below the head unit is a 4 CD storage box by a German company called Fischer. Rather than have an ordinary pocket, I did a little research and found this little item. I think it looks better than a pocket, and the boys at Tweeter found a way to make it fit. The receiver is under the driver side seat. The antenna is a Terk.

Finally installed the subwoofer under the front passenger seat

Thanks go to buggyboy for the hosting of the pictures!

Looks great Dave. Will sound even better after you get that sub installed.

I think an spacious SUV really accentuates the Sirius sound.

where did you find the awesome black tubing to conceal the wires at? My tuner is installed under the passenger seat in a similar manner, and my wires are somewhat visible.

Thank you for the comments and questions - keep them coming

To answer you question

I believe what you are looking at is the wiring for the heated seats. Since I did not do the install job myself, I really can't speak to that very much. The boys at Tweeter did a fine job.

The name for that black tubing is call "flexible loom". You can get it at hardware stores and Ratshacks. It comes in many diferent colors and diameters. You usually cut it to length.

Dave, your system and your car look great!

Too bad my Forester is a 99' and the roof has little ridges attached to it under the roof rack which prevented me from attaching the antenna in the center of the roof where yours is.

Since my antenna is mounted closer to the passenger side, I think I am getting some dropouts because I frequestly ride under heavily shaded areas. I probably would have been better off putting it closer to the midline of the road on the driver's side.

Foresters are good cars, aren't they? I wish Subaru would jump on the Sirius train soon!

Jpolson: what is that word just below both Michigan stickers? I can't figure it out, maybe you can.

And, yes, I am in a sarcastic mood 24/7.

LOL Michigan!! hee-haw hee-haw!!! Michigan football ROFLMAO!!! Big Ten LOL!!! Can't breath Laughing so hard!!

Sorry about that outburst Dave. The Cornhusker inside me could not pass a chance to make fun of Michigan. No I am sure it is a great University and I congratulate you on your achievments. Its just when I see something Big Ten or anyother school then Nebraska I just have to laugh. Thats the downside of being a Husker fan. But I still think they should have played a few years ago for the Nat. Championship.

All in good fun.

Since you brought it up....lets take a look

Most Collegiate Football Championships

Nebraska 5
University of Michigan 9
Michigan State 3

Most Collegiate Basketball Championships

Nebraska 0
University of Michigan 1
Michigan State 2

Most NCAA Championships (from the the NCAA web site)

Nebraska: 12 (including baskbetball)
Michigan State: 18 (including basketball)
Michigan: 31 (including basketball)

Put that in your pipe and smoke it

I laugh nebraska

And if you want academic rankings....which you don't....please vist US News and World report.... and see where Nebraska is relative to Michigan and Michigan State

Ahhh that felt good

Man I cant wait to play fantasy football

I know in that a team has to play everyone to win a Championship and one team cant go and hide in a seperate bowl game.

You are going to be fun to play
