Heres what I have done so far,

I removed the XM tuner and Antenna completelly.

I velcroed the Sirius Antena down.

And the wires have plenty of slack, it does not appear to be loose.

It was fine this morning but now in the evening it is doing it again. It does happen in the evening mostly so I believe it has something to do with sunset and antena placement.

I have tried to many things and nothing is working. The only thing I haven't tried is a ground plane. But I ordered a new Terk antena with a splitter and I will relocate it to the roof. If this doesn't work then Sirius is unfortunately on the way out.

It seems from reading other post some people are having drop outs and others report none at all. I am also located in Boston so anyone from this area having any similar problems?

I live in Central MA and I also have some periodic dropouts. Ususally occurs on back roads. When I travel a main route like the Mass Pike or 495, I don't experience any dropouts. I also still have the first gen tuner and antenna which is mounted on my roof.

I moved the antena to the roof along with changing it to a new Terk. I also am waiting for a new tuner. I returned the old one also because it was shutting down after about 20 minutes. So I am hoping it was a second defective tuner. I have a OEM Infiniti tuner.

Got it all up and running. So far so good. The antenna on the roof works for me far better. I don't know why I get drop out on the inside but I do. So even though I like the inside install better its all about the music. No drop outs and the new tuner doesn't overheat and shutdown.

This is nice because I thought I was going to have to go with XM and shut Sirius down. But It sounds good now.

Glad to see you got it working for you. It's not surprising that you get more dropouts if the antenna is on the inside. The glass and possibly the roof will cause some attenuation of the signal.

If that dealer won't work with you, just go to another one. There are enough good Nissan dealers out there and this definitely CAN be done. It can even be done on a non-pre-wired car...u just have to go through the trouble of wiring it

But, you should definitely be able to get it on your car.
