I change credit cards every couple of years (security). This last time, Sirius sent me an email a month before the expiration reminding me to update my account.

XM did nothing until yesterday, when I got a nasty letter saying the credit card company had refused payment and demanding $59.94 immediately!!!

When I tried to call XM this morning I got a message saying that their Customer Care is closed until Noon Eastern. What a load of crap!!!

Sirius Customer Care is 24/7.

Sirius is definitely setup for customer satisfaction with the 24/7 customer care. It might take them awhile to get things running 100% smooth, but they will get it eventually.

I am going to activate my service for both cars this week, if I am doing it online, and want to pay month by month, what do I need to know/watch for?

The biggest worry is that you will love the service so much you will buy a bunch more radioes and have to activate them, too!

Seldom does billing screw up. Nothing special to watch out for. Honest.

There is no need to worry. Simply select the plan you want (monthly, yearly, etc.). It's really foolproof when you activate online.

I made the mistake of activating my first receiver over the phone because the literature that came with the friends and family receiver sort of made it seem like you had to. I've NEVER been able to access my account online, even after calling and verifying the username, password, and account number. At least whenever I call to activate additional receivers, they never give me a hassle and just charge me 5 dollars instead of 15.

If you are activating a second receiver you should call in, unless you don't want the discount.

I have been having NOTHING but problems with billing and am about fed up with the whole thing. I love my Sirius units and am responsible for a few dozen others getting subscriptions, but I never had the first problem with XM.

I do miss the NASCAR channel......

Just the opposite for me, nothing but billing problems with XM, but never a single one with SIRIUS. As many Tuners as I have subscribed, unsubscribe, switched around.. I don't know how I've never had problems. Only had one single unit with XM, never changed it, never swapped it, but double billings, no credits, over charges etc. This has been going on for 6 months, I finally canceled though, not for billing reasons... Maybe now I can finally get it resolved.

I've not detected any billing problems, but, I think its damn near criminal that Sirius won't even email an invoice explaining their charges! As I recall, they expect you to PAY to get an invoice!!

Sirius does not e-mail invoices. They bill on the same date every month, usually the day you first activated. They only charge for MAILING invoices to you.

I know that!! That's my complaint!! I pay annually and it would not kill them to email a damn bill documenting the charges!!

You should be able to print out your account on line, soon.
