Default Known Issues (Bugs) List for All SIRIUS Satellite Radios

On this forum we moderators attempt to help everyone as much as possible, however it seems the same issues are repeated time and time again. Now we are glad to assist everyone, however, many will find this list of known issues and the companion help guide useful.

Kenwood DT-7000s Home Tuner Alarm will not turn off
Problem: Once the alarm is turned on, it can not be turned off, even if you turn it off in the menus.
Solution: You must return the unit to Kenwood for them to apply a firmware update. You will be without your radio for approximately 2 weeks.

Kenwood Here2Anywhere (H2A) Rev 2 Alarm will not turn off
This effects only the Revision 2 units which show the time on the display
Problem: Once the alarm is turned on, it can not be turned off, even if you turn it off in the menus.
Solution: Contact Kenwood.

My Tuner keeps losing it's Memory
Problem: You lose your time zone settings, s-seek data (memo list) or other options. This is a known bug with the Audivox PNP2, Streamer and JVC KT-SR1000 units.
Solutions: Do not use the Sleep feature set to 60 minutes. It is okay to use the sleep feature at 30 or 45 minutes without issue.

Maybe post the Audiovox PNP3's "slow-playing" mode that happens from time to time. Turning the unit off then on corrects it.

Default Sanyo CRSR-10

I am new to Sirius and this forum. I bought a Sanyo CRSR-10 last week and it has been working great until today. The illuminated face flickers. I threw away the packaging so I can not exchange it.

Um, buy a new one. Put the bad one in the new packaging and return it.

Sportster won't stay seated in boombox
Problem: After a few hours of operation (once the tuner heats up), the tuner won't stay latched into the boombox. The tuner still works, but won't stay flush with the face of the boombox.
Solution: This is a problem with the first shipment of Sportster boomboxes. They should be exchanged for a newer model.

Default Sportster won't stay in boombox

so far my sportster has not had any problem being lovked into my boombox even after a few hours of playing time, maybe it was not securely locked in to begin with.

Default audiovox PNP2

Does anyone notice that if you have the PNP2 on but the car off, when you come back most fo the time I will have a frozen display and no audio. I have to unplug the power and re-plug it in and then it works again. this never happens when I am in the csr driving so I have no idea why this is happening when the car is off.

I currently have my PNP2 connected through a crappy radioshack splitter that keeps popping out, and on a few occasions I have lost audio like you have described and fixed it by resetting the system, so I don't think it's limited to the car being off. I think, perhaps, it happens if there is a power spike or perhaps if it loses power for just a split second, not long enough to reset the system. Probably a PNP2 issue, or perhaps it's just us.

Also with the PNP2, the antenna reciever connector is VERY sensitive, and I have the L-Shaped connector, not the straight one. It loses the antenna connection sometimes seemingly at random and I have to push or jiggle the plug to get it to work again.

Guess I have been lucky so far with my PNP2, smooth sailing. However, looking at the design and factoring in that the unit gets snapped in to the car, to work and back to the car on a daily basis, I am worried about the connectors getting worn rather quickly.

I have a PNP2 that has been snapped into and out of cradles multiple times daily for well over 1 year and I see no sign of it wearing out. Just be careful to snap it into place properly every time and it should give lot's of use before wearing out. I put a lifetime plan on mine, so I had to take reliability into account when I did that.

Sounds like a loose power cable or cradle connection..

(This may be the wrong place for this -- apologies in advance if so).

Sportster issues I've noticed...
1. There should be a mute button on the radio itself, rather than just on the remote.
2. When accidently hitting the Category button on the remote (or the unit itself), the only way to exit this mode is to select a channel or hit "Menu" twice.

Those are really preferences more so than real problems. None of the PNP tuners have a mute on the unit itself and they all require that you the menu twice to exit out of it.
