Default USA SPEC Auxiliary Input Adapter - Help Needed

I need help with my USA SPEC Auxiliary Adapter install. I attempted to install it today, but I was unsuccesful. It is in a 2001 Ford Escape with a MACH factory radio. I plugged the CAS-F12 into the roung din plug on my DF-FORD adapter, then the other end of the CAS-F12 into either the CAS-F10 or CAS-F20 (I can't remember which one was the one that fit my radio). Then the CAS-F10/F20 cord into the back of my factory radio. There are three other plugs connected to it though. Does anyone know if they need to be plugged in anywhere? (I assume this thing just uses the radio's power and doesn't need to run of anything else. maybe I'm wrong.) Also, I didn't hear a click when i plugged the F10/F20 into the back of my radio, should i have? When I tried to use it, my radio said no CD. Any help would be appreciated, as I am stumped.

Not sure if this helps... No power connection needed but here is the owners manual - including the installation manual. http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Man.../581PA10F2.PDF

If the install is like this, than I definately didn't do anything I needed to do. It would make sense that the install for this PIE adapter would be similar. The only thing is it doesn't mention in the instructions where to plug the other receptors. Does anyone know what the stuff on the bottom of this diagram is, and if I probably have to do the same thing?

OK, so I figured out how to do it. Here is my install thread. I've added some pictures of the install after it was complete, and later I will add a few pictures of the wires, to show how it is done.

Great, but I have Ground Loop Interference for both my Sirius & Ipod. So that would be like a $30 fix for both. It isn't as noticable with heavier music on the ipod and sirius music, but for lighter music and Sirius talk streams it is pretty noticable. The ipod GLI probably has to deal with the Belkin Auto Kit that I have, because it has a built in amplifier.

How long did the actual install take you?

Um, a while. But if you know how to do it, then it shouldn't take longer than 15 mins. Sometime I'm going to add pics of the cords to my install thread, with text to explain the cords, because the instructions don't go in depth enough.

Looking forward to that whenever you get around to it. I'm still thinking about installing one.

Yea, I need to find the time, and figure out what image editing software will allow me to add small text without blacking out an area for it (as Paint does).

Couldn't you get the pics hosted, then type what you want above them when you write a new thread? This is what I do.

well, what i want to do is write the text right next to the cords, so it is easy to tell what each cord is.

I still haven't gotten my Sportster installed in my 4Runner. I was just about decided on the USA Spec when I read

Quote:
Note: The adapter is not compatible with vehicles that have factory navigation and DVD systems. The adapter takes the place of the CD changer, so you cannot have a CD changer and the adapter connected to your vehicle at the same time.
:\

I don't have the Nav or DVD but ... does this mean that you can't play your CD's after installing this thingy????????????
