Default Help with antenna install

I'd like to install an antenna WITHOUT seeing the wire. I'm prepared to drill a hole in my trunk to hide the wire under the antenna. Just wondering how/where to find an antenna designed for this type of install. I'd also like to find one that's paintable, as I would like to have it painted to match my vehicle color. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been searching for a small permanent mount antenna too... without a whole lot of luck.
The closest thing I've found so far is the Shakespeare Galaxy SRA-30 Low Profile Antenna, which you can check out here:

More specs here: http://tinyurl.com/bvhrc (click on "Features and Benefits" for detailed .pdf files of installation instructions)

Made for marine applications, but I see no reason it wouldn't work just fine on a vehicle and could easily be painted whatever color you'd like.

3½"diameter x 1.36" high - which isn't too bad.
I may end up going with it if I can't find something a bit more low profile.

For now... my search continues.

First of all, why drill into your car? You don't have to. There are many ways to hide the wire. You can look at the numerous installs here.
Drilling into your car seems a little harsh IMO. Please do your research first. I would hate for you to regret drilling later.

Second, look at www.colormatchantenna.com for all your Sirius needs. They can match your antenna to whatever color you want. They are also a sponsor of Sirius Backstage and we like to patronize them.

Let me know what you come up with.
