Default Help with 98 Taurus and Sportster

Hello all,

I have a sportster and a '98 Taurus. I'm sick of having to change stations all the time to avoid static. My taurus has a cd button on the dash, but I don't have a cd player. My question is: Can I hard wire the sporster directly to the cd input on the radio? If so, is this difficult. I'm handy but not a car or electrical buff. Any help would be appreciated. The more detail the better.

Thanks,

Mulligan

Ford 95-98 Aux Input

Color Match Antenna should be carrying the Aux Input in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime. Purchase it at.

LogJam Electronics

Or you could buy the $20 SATSWB.

This will eliminate all static and you'll never have to change the channel again.

Check here.

I purchased the satswb on Friday and tried to install it this morning... unfortunately, the antenna input on my '02 Mercury Sable (aka Taurus) is different than the standard antenna plug, sizeably smaller, and the plug on this satswb will not fit into the input jack on the radio. I haven't looked into an adapter or a different satswb yet, so this is just a warning...

Yes with some cars you will need the adapter. You will be happy after you get them.

Yep, I found the correct adapter for my '02 Sable at Circuit City. It connects an 'aftermarket antenna' (more specifically, the larger standard connector) to the late-model Ford-style antenna jack. They stock similar adapters for GM, VW/Audi, Chrysler, Nissan, Volvo, and BMW. All are available for shipping but in-store stock is hard to find. I would recommend that everyone just check out this detail before getting the satswb, and save yourself a second trip!
