Default can you install both the XM commander and sirius starbase?

just bought a new car and while id like to get a deck that does sirius and XM, it came with a 6 disc in dash cd/mp3 player that i dont want to get rid of. i have the xm commander currently installed and it sounds great, even with FM modulation (no static at all), can i install the starbase to use too? other than maybe looking tacky, is there anything preventing me from doing so? thanks

Check out here for aux adapters. There are options for up to three inputs.

Sorry I should of been more specific.

You should need this one:

http://logjamelectronics.com/piehon98aux.html

And this one:

http://logjamelectronics.com/soundaux3.html

I would give logjam a call tomorrow. Tell them what you want to do. They will be very helpful.

I could be making this more difficult than it needs to be. With the previous mention parts you would have the best sound quality. With FM mod you will run into static, not as good sound, etc...

You could do it the FM mod route. It would be less expensive. I want you to have the best sound quality.

It is just my opinion to go with the AUX method.

well i just went down to get it installed (the starbase) but they said they couldnt do it cause i had the commander. They said there would be intereference and id need to select something that did wireless FM modulation like the starmate. But then id have wires all over and have to use the cigarette lighter for power.

I would call PIE (www.pie.net). They are coming out with new stuff all the time. They might be able to get you in the right direction.

would this work.

here is my deck

it has an AUX in on the front. Can I install the starbase and use this

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QQHacZ4...43183190&o=&a=

then just have that wire come out from the small space under the deck and plug it right into that hole? hopefully i can find a wire with an L-shpaed head to minimize the tackiness. so maybe half an inch of ire will show at most

You would need to see if there is another aux input in the back of the HU. That aux button could be for that aux input onthe front of the HU.

thats what im saying. ill pull the deck out run the wire from the starbase and plug it into the one on front then put the deck in, only thing showing would be the head of the wire and like half an inch from the hole to where the deck goes back in...
