Default SIRIUS FM Module Relay (DEI 14110) - Works with Starbase?

Hi All:

I have a Starmate installed in my 2001 Lexus GS 300; it works great except there is a lot of static as I use the FM transmitter (no aux input on the stock head unit.)

My question is this: will the following adapter work with the Starbase?

http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/...Detail.do#tabs

If so, do you just swap it with the FM transmitter that came with the Starbase? I also want to be able to listen to FM stations without having them disabled...Will this product fit the bill?

Thanks in Advance,

Michael Tschirret

The Starmate has an FM out. The SATSWB will work. Buy it.

There will be no swapping of anything. You will plug the SATSWB into the FM out.

Default SATSWB the Same as the DEI 14110?

I'm referring to the Starmate. Is the SATSWB the same thing as the link I provided? And is my unit currently using the FM out for the FM modulator? (Sorry to be dense; just want to clarify if the FM out is unused or not.) How is the FM modulator connected?

Thanks Again,

Michael Tschirret

yes the SATSWB will work. i think the link you posted is the same thing. unless you have the SATSWB already hooked up nothing should be using the FM out port on your starmate. the fm SATSWB plugs into the FM out port on the starmate then it plugs into AM/FM port on the back of your stereo. Then you plug your AM/FM antenna into the black switching box on the SATSWB cable. When the starmate is on it turns off your AM/FM antenna preventing 99% static and bleedthrough. i used on for a while. its a great solution.

Actually, it wouldn't matter - it would work with both.

Realize though that you have to remove your radio to install this as it plugs into the back of your radio and depending on your car, you may need a pair of antenna adapters as well, however Circuit City should be able to tell you if the adapters are needed.
