Default 2 Install Questions

If I use the mini to RCA cable, will that still be using the FM transmitter. Meaning I will still be listening through my radio station?

I'm a little confused

My eclipse radio has an "aux input" for mini disk, mp3 or whatever. Thanks to dark cloud he saved me some money and told me about the mini to rca but I'm confused how that works. If I don't connect the Aux input (satellite receiver to radio) how will I hear it, unless it works almost like an amp where I connect via mini to rca, and the satellite receiver sends it to the FM station.

If I were to hard wire the power by cutting the cigarette adapter, how can I be sure which one is positive and negative. Is there a simple way to tell?

Sorry for the questions but if I don't ask, I might be sorry
I've done plenty of installs but just want to be sure as the satellite is unfamiliar grounds.

AmuN is an unknown quantity at this point

if you directly connect the unit to your head unit via the Aux port on the stereo then you can turn off the FM transmitter.

As for hard wiring the unit, Be sure to use a fused connection so you dont fry the receiver. To tell which wire goes to positive take the cigarette lighter plug apart on the wire. The wire that leads to the side terminals is negative and the wire that leads to the tip at the end is positive

Go to radio shack or walmart and buy a cheap digital multi-meter. For $10-$15 you will be able to tell possitive from negative as well as voltage.
