Did you find an unused frequency in your area to use?

Can you remove your antenna?

If you live in an area where there is a lot of trees you will get a lot of acquring signal. Maybe the fall it will be better.

"Static" is the result of interfering FM stations. I would say 99.9 percent of the time. Keep your SAT reciever off while in the driveway at home and find a clear FM channel on your car radio. Then leave the car radio on the clean channel and turn on your SAT reciever. Then tune the SAT reciever to match your car radio. The low band of the FM stations, like 87.9 are usually the least occupied. If you can't find a clear channel then find the one that is the weakest and try it again.
