Default JVC KT-SR2000 "Antenna Not Connected" Extremely Fr

Hello Sirius folks, I hope you can help me or at least point me in the right direction.

I bought my JVC Plug and play KT-SR2000 and the JVC Boom Box in late February. I use it at work plugged at my desk.

It worked great for about a month and slowly I kept getting the dreaded "Antenna Not Connected" Errors. I kept the Boom Box on my desk and I get great Terr Signal. I unplugged it to lock it up for the night, and when I returned I hooked it back up. When the errors began appearing I could just wiggle the unit in its cradle and the signal would return.. But slowly its starting to become a battle to get the signal to stay without the "Antenna not connected" coming up. I can place my hand on the unit and hold it in place and it would connect just fine but as soon as I lifted my hand off the error came back and I would loose the signal.

I called the JVC help desk and the first lady asked for the s/n and I did not have it. She said it was a known problem and to return the unit. I called back with the s/n and another lady said it was because I was not in a place that received a good signal. Thats just crap I just want this thing fixed.

Is the problem with my receiver or the boom box or with both of them? Should I just return the plug and play receiver? Do I need some kind of RA number to track it? I would hate to have a $90 unit get lost or something.

I do not have a car hookup for it yet, just the Boom Box. As soon as this problem is solved I hope to save up to get the docking unit for the car.

Is there a good cup-holder docking station I can buy for this? My husband doesn't want me to sacrifice one of my cup holders permanently for the Sirius radio.

Any help will be appreciated!

Have your tried unplugging and replugging the antenna into the boombox itself? Just make sure its firmly inserted into the boombox.

Do you have a car or regular home kit that you can plug the tuner into to see if the tuner gives that problem on them? If the tuner isn't doing it with those then I would think it would be the boombox.

I think you may need to call JVC support back and just insist that they take care of this problem for you. But you need to try and figure out which is the problem, the tuner or the boombox.

Hi there.

I had the same thing happen with my JVC in the car but only during the winter. Since summer began and it's been so warm I haven't seen it. It did happen about a month ago but that was after a cool night.

I personally think it's the antenna connector on the receiver and that it contracts and expands to much. Since you have your boombox inside is it under an AC duct? Try some way of keeping the connector warm.

Just some random thoughts. Good luck.
