You can use whatever power source you want. However, I suggest that you use a source that turns off with the key.

I also will recommend that you temporarily install your unit first. By doing this you will be able to make sure that everything works. Then go online and activate your tuner. Then take everything apart and do your permanent install.

Good Luck,

MM

Welcome to Sirius Backstage

If you use a source that provides full time 12V (key on or off), you'll have to remember to shut off the radio or take it out of the cradle when you leave the car for any length of time. If you don't your battery will run down eventually.

When you subscribe, you should have your unit installed and turned on. It needs to download the channel information from the satellites. You should get an "Updating" message on the screen a few minutes after you finish the subscription process. It will update for a couple of minutes and when it's done you can start enjoying Sirius
