Default Signal GONE in Phoenix

I use a Sportster Replay at my office in Phoenix, AZ.
It has worked perfectly for the last 2 weeks with a 100% Terrestrial Signal, However this signal has VANISHED in the last 30 minutes or so.
I do have an Office with a North facing window (Optimal dierction for my area) and the antenna placed on the window sill so you'd think I would be able to get a good sattelite signal but I get nothing.
Perhaps the presense of a Terrestrial signal in the area has taken precidence over the Sattelite signal?
That would be fine if the Terrestrial signal worked ALL the time.
But for now I'm stuck looking at my pretty new radio that says "Acquiring Signal"

Whats the deal?

(by the way, I use this same reciever at home and I get a perfect 100% sattelite signal there)

Signal has decided to return...

Did someone shit on our repeater?
I am a new member and I sure hope this isnt a regular occurence.

When it goes silent in here the minutes strectch into HOURS and I feel like smashing my head into the wall.

It happens sometimes. Repeaters are just hardware, and hardware sometimes fails or needs to be taken offline for service/replacement. I've only noticed it happen once in the past year with my local repeater.

Ah, I survived it.
I can always break out my crappy PC Speakers and stream Hair Nation in desperate times.

Thanks.

The repeater here in Phoenix has had some troubles recently. Anytime you fail to get a terrestrial/repeater signal, especially in downtown Phoenix, call Customer Service and report it. If they give you the runaround, send me a private message here in SBS, and I will contact someone who will do something about it.

I never have picked up a repeater signal here in Sierra Vista, we're only 150 miles south of Phoenix- does that mean it wont reach? (Just kidding) Does Tucson even have a repeater?( thats 60 miles away)

I dont know about Tucson but the Phoenix Repeater Signal is basically just to cover the Downtown area. (I think)

I live in Litchfield Park (17 miles from Downtown) and there is no repeater signal there, which is fine because I get a perfect sattelite signal with the antenna mounted on my roof.

My question... If there is a repeater signal does it override any sattelite signal?
And if the repeater signal vaporizes (like today) does it prevent me from gaining a sattelite signal in that area? I should get a strong sattelite signal from my office window (facing north), but I cant get any Sat. signal at all from my office for some reason.

note: dude in the next office over has XM and has the same situation, all terrestrial - no sattelite.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems there in Phoenix. I am having the same problems in Columbus, OH. I have had Sirius since December of last year, and have always received a 2-3 bar signal...that was of course until last Monday. I have called tech support and all they can tell me is that it is an antenna problem! A co worker of mine has the same exact radio, and he has the same problem. What gives? Any suggestions? Do you think that it is the same repeater problem that you Phoenix guys are having? I don't understand how one day, I am getting close to full strength, and the next, I have no signal (it comes in for like 2-3 minutes in the morning, and then is out again for the rest of the day).

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
