Default Static/grounding issue started out of nowhere..

Yet another post concerning static (sorry) but I think this is a bit odd.

I have the Sportster Replay and its worked well for the past month by sitting the receiver/unit in one of the cupholders in my car (Mustang) and affixing the antenna to the dash.

I had to take the car to the dealer and just got it back after a few days.
Now there's static on the freq -- but it goes away if I hold the receiver in my hand. Signal quality is fine and there's no interference from the selected FM freq

One option is to use the suction cup thing that came with it , but it seems really bulky.

Any idea what I can do to fix this? Thanks..

When you touch / hold the receiver your body acts like an antenna (I'm serious).

You should have gotten an FM Transmitter wire with the replay to plug it to help with the signal.
