Default Starmate replay ST2 problem - "aquiring signal" with an X in the signal indicator

Please tell me if anybody has experienced this problem with the ST2. This morning i had the radio working in all 3 locations that i have an antenna installed: home, work and the car, and all worked fine. i brought it into work from the car this morning and connected it to the radio where i work, and it worked. Then after about an hour and a half or so, the aquiring signal message came on and instead of showing bars in the signal indicator, it shows an X. it has been locked in that state ever since. no matter how many times i turn it on and reconnect it doesnt go away. i get the same result in all 3 locations. This is a brand new radio that i got through Sirius Warranty just yesterday after my original ST2 would not turn on. This absolutely sucks. i really am not happy about maybe having to again return the radio to sirius warranty services. Other sirius subscribers that i know in the area do not report this problem and thier radios are working fine. HELP PLEEEEASE!!!

I would exchange it. If you tried it at 3 locations with different antennas and had the same issues then there must be an issue with the unit.

You should be able to exchange the unit itself. Where'd you get it?

BTW, welcome to Sirius BackStage!!

The one I have is great. The first one I had "broke", you know, because the "LCD screen started turning black out of nowhere while I was driving down the road"... and the place fell for it even though I dropped the damn thing by accident. The new one I got I'm a lot more careful with and I'm having no problems whatsoever with it. Great little unit although I will probably be retiring it soon to pick up a sportster4

I had to send my starmate in to warranty also. It would overheat and not play anything after about 10 mins. Not sure why there seems to be so many problems with this type of unit. Still waiting to get my replacement unit, and now I can only hope there is no problems with that.
