Default Locate XM Radio - Pointiac GRAND PRIX

I have an 06 Pontiac grand prix. I want to replace the factory XM radio with a sir-gm1. I cannot seem to locate the factory XM unit. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Reciever module is located in the trunk, driver side by tail lamps under trim panel.

Post 2005 Grand Prix GTP and SIR-GM1

I have a GTP with the moonsoon, XM, On Star, a "band" button and a CD changer. I went to Circuit City and they said thay wern't sure if it would work. I also saw another posting saying that your orignal XM anytenna would work fine and you didn't have to switch antennas. I'd love to be able to do that.

Anyone have any experience with this model?
Thanks to all for your help.

Post Grand Prix XM box location

I just got mine today and the instructions say it's in the RF of passenger compartment.
I haven't looked yet but let's hope the instructions are right.

FLSTCI, was your OEM XM SAT tuner located in the RF of the passenger compartment as you had previously stated your instructions read, or is it located as 06Z71Canyon had earlier posted,as being in the rear of the vehicle in the trunk?

'Factory satellite radio tuner is located behind the driver's side rear quarter panel, by tail lamps under trim panel.'
