Unhappy Defective XACT XSO27 Boombox

My XACT XSO27 Boombox has a defective DC IN connection which shorts out intermittently. I thought it was the AC Adapter and ordered a new one from XACT which did not solve the problem. I realized that it was the DC IN connection itself. Any simply way to open the back to repair the connection? Is it worth it to have it repaired and where do you go for that service? The XACT warranty expired in June. Thanks:

Theres a good chance that the jack solder has come loose and it may need to be resoldered . You could contact them and compare the cost of a repair VS the cost of a replacement .

I contacted XACT, and since it is out of warranty, they suggest that I buy a new XSO27 at a cost of $119.00, plus shipping from Georgia. I tried to open the rear of the speaker by removing all the screws with no luck. Any idea how to open that side up to inspect the DC IN solder connection?
