Default 3 bars but still dropouts

I have 3 bars on both Sat and Ter. I get dropouts. With 3 bars should I be void of dropouts.

I am using the windowsill antenna on a west facing window. I've done this since January and more recently in the last week the problems have increased. Most of the time in the past there are minimal drop outs, but now I get no sound a lot of times with those 3 bars.

I am using Starmate replay purchased in January.

I now moved to the main screen from the signal strength and I see the message aquiring signal, but then there are dropouts and it does not display aquiring signal.

Do you have 3 bars on the main screen, or three bars on both satellite and terrestrial on the antenna aiming screen?

Three bars on the antenna aiming screen usually isn't enough for consistent audio.

When you say the main screen, do you mean the very bottom left. If so, I only have 1 bar. The 3 bars are on the Signal Indicator screen where it shows both Sat and Ter.

Right now, the sound is fine and I don't seem to be having dropouts.

If possible try to get the antenna outside. The best place is on the roof but if that's not possible then anyplace outside with a good view of the sky will do. If you can't get it outside then just try moving the antenna a little in the window sill. Make the screen doesn't block it. One more thing you could try if possible is just get the antenna just outside the window and see if theres a way to to velcro it or attache it or something like that just outside the window.

3 Bars in the detailed signal strength area is the MINIMUM. Think of it like a fence. Even though it shows 3, it may leaning to the left of the 3 and it will go to acquiirng signal. You should be able to adjust it slightly and get a better signal.
