Default Which radio gets best reception (inhome, not car)

Is there one of the radios for in home usage with the window sill antenna that gets better reception than others.

I don't know if my Starmate is becoming defective or it is just the locations of the satellites. I have to put the antenna in a west facing window and I can angle it North West, but my reception has deteriorated in the last week. It was decent. I was getting 3-6 bar Ter and 3 bar Sat in on the radio's Signal Indicator.

My location is San Jose, CA

The current receivers are all pretty well the equal when it comes to reception. They use the same components inside. The antennas are pretty similar too and they do all the work when it comes to picking up the signal... I've read some reports saying that the MONSTER ANTENNA is supposed to be a bit better than the average home antenna. I've never tried one.

Even if you do get an extra hot antenna, it still may not work well inside. If you have metal in your roof or walls, the satellite signal can be completely blocked and the antenna won't see any signal at all. In this case, the best antenna in the world won't help.

The best bet if you can is to get the antenna outside where it can see as much of the sky as possible.
