Default No Reception (Toronto)

Before I cancel this crap, is anyone else having problems? For the past week, my receiver has been trying to "acquire a signal" and it's driving me nuts. I take the same route every day so I know theres no problems with the area b/c it's been working fine since June.

Anyone else having similar problems in t.o?

It could be your antenna. Do you have another one to try?

Unfortunately, I don't.

It's been perfect since June, I haven't touched a thing. For the past 2 week, everyday at random occasions, it tries to aquire a signal. I barely listen to it anymore because of this (waste of money)

Do you think I need to replace the antenna already? I have a sportster 4 and I bought it brand new. Do you think the receiver is damage?. I remove it every night due to thieves in the neighbourhood but i've been removing it since day 1 and I haven't had any problems until 2 weeks ago.

You shouldn't be having that much trouble getting a signal, especially in a large city with a repeater.. (Is your antenna on the roof)?

It sure sounds like either your receiver or your antenna has failed. It doesn't happen often, but electronic things can break down.

Did you buy your unit at a local dealer? If so you might be able to go back and try a different antenna there...

Hello,

The antenna is on my dash up to the winshield. It used to get perfect reception, I never got 1 dropout. Sometimes it would even work in a garage. yesterday it was fine, today it was giving me problems again.

I bought the unit off ebay, not sure if theres any warranty on it. I suppose i'll just buy another antenna for it, they're not too expensive and give it a try again.

Thumbs down

Well follow the instructions of installing the car antenna then complain... If you mount it on the roof or trunk (depending on the vehicle) and still have a problem then go from there... but to complain because you didn't install correctly is just wrong.

I don't drive a shitbox like you do, i'm not drilling a hole in my roof. This thing was working fine for 5 mths straight w/o 1 dropout at all, and now it's giving me problems every minute I use it. How the fuck is it a problem with my antenna placement you braindead moron? Use your peanut brain kid.

I'm picking up an antenna for this pos. If it doesen't solve it, then this sirius unit is going in the trash and i'm picking up xm.

don't bother calling customer "care" they suck! Wait 10 minutes to talked to some uneducated idiot, who can't even use the hold right on thier phone system. It took me 4 times calling just to get a signal sent.
