When I was using the FM transmitter in my Starmate Replay, I found that 87.9 worked the best for me.

The newer FCC approved radios have removed 87.9
I lost it on my S50 after the last firmware update. I now start at 88.1
I was in Boston on sunday and used 88.5 OK.

If it's really a problem for $20 you can get a hard wire FM Modulator.

there is a website that I saw around here that tells you what stations will work the best. I use 106.1 (I think). Will look for the site. I am between worcester and boston

Boston sucks for using an FM transmitters... I have to constantly change it whenever I'm driving around.
