Default Acquiring Signal

I live in Delaware and for the past 6 weeks my Sirius has no signal. I called Customer Service and they said their repeater is down in the area. I called again on Friday and actually was able to talk to someone in technical support. They said the repeater is back up but the FCC has lowered the signal power on Sirius and XM. Has anyone else heard this?

Tech Support said I can purchase a FM Modulated Relay to boost the signal but I explained that this wasn't for my car and the Sirius Audiovox boombox that I use, does not have FM. I have used it at work for the past 2 years with no problems until this repeater went out. Best Buy and Circuit City said the relay wouldn't help. But they both wanted me to buy a new antennae because they said it wears out. Has anyone else also heard this before?

Does your boombox have a shuttle? Most Sirius rcvrs have interchangable antennas. Try to hook up your boombox to a car antenna (obviously needs to be a shuttle type unit) or maybe a friend's antenna to be sure.

Like most pieces of electrical equipment antenna DO wear out but I would test it before buying.

I am not the only one that has this problem. There are 4 of us who simultaneously lost our signal at once. We all have different equipment and one persons unit is less than a month old. My Audiovox works in my home unit. But I bought it primarily for work.

I did find out that this supposedly repeater is still down. They have credited my account for the past 2 months. But it is so frustrating that I can't use Sirius right now.

I realize your optoins are limited at work but if there is a way you can position your antenna to receive the signal straight from the sat....that might help?
Also if there are others at work who have recievers maybe you could chip in and buy one of those bigger home antennas and put it somewhere on the roof.....just some thoughts....hope it works out for you.
