Default Problem: Is it the HU or the Sat Receiver?

Hi All.

I installed the SIR-PNR1 unit to work with my Pioneer DEH-P8600. The radio shows the unit is connected, but I am unable to tune in to any channels.
I know once the two are connected the Head Unit is supposed to be able to tune to 2 channels: 184 - which is a preview channel, and 000 - which is supposed to display the SID/ESN #. None of these stations will tune in.

All I have showing on the HU is that the SIRIUS is connected.

Any idea if this sounds like an issue with the SIR unit, or maybe the unit is fine but the antenna isn't?

Trying to get a grasp on what is going on here.

Thanks for your help/input!

Default Revisit your install

And make sure everything’s connected properly.

Are their any switches that need to be set on the actual HU?
Are the cables seated properly (power/cable that connect to your HU)?
Are their any nicks or hard bends in the antenna cable?
Are you sure that you have the right S/N?

I have an Alpine and will add the SIR-ALP1 to it for Christmas. It’s basically the same thing you’re doing. All I need to do is power the SIR-ALP1, connect it to my Alpine, plug in the antenna, and activate. Good luck.
