Default updates

The same thing happened to me. I didn't remember all of the presets, so I have some new ones now. It might have been a good thing.

The same thing happened to me around 4:00 p.m. CT. The radio went silent, then starting updated and then no more presets. I reset them and turn the radio off and back on later and they were still there. I thought there was a big problem with the SIR 1's a couple months ago like this. Hopefully, my radio isn't broken.

Sirius transmitted a firmware update to cripple the built in FM modulator to be in compliance with FCC regulations. This was reported on Stern's show last week. The presets are lost when this occurs.

Calm down and don't get your panties in a twist. I'm joking. However I now know that I wasn't the only one this happened to today

The update happened with my PNP3. Does this mean the FM transmitter is awful now? If so, I will be very angry. They can cripple my FM transmitter, but not give me all of the new Canadian channels. I am on vacation so I don't have a home kit with me to test the FM transmitter, so it will have to wait.

I think you missed the last part of this post. He was joking about the FM transmitter.

The biggest update outside of programming that Sirius needs to make is fixing channel names. i'm not sure WHY some channel names are run-ons (like JazzCafe or Jam_On for example) and some have the right spacing. its very odd. Channel 98 needs changed from SIRIUS to Stones Radio or something too. Call me a nitpicker if you will

Even in the marketing material JazzCafe is one word and Jam_On has an underscore. I think it's like that for a reason. As far as Stones radio goes it's a "temporary" channel that's been on for over a year now.

Hmm, I bought another sportster because I thought my radio was dying. OH, well. At least I have a backup now.

10:33 PM ET, and I just got an "updating info" message.

Anyone know what the hell just happened?

I totally agree with the post above, and I've posted about it before, it seems like there is no care given to how the "channel line-up" is displayed. This should be given more thought as it really is part of the SIRIUS presentation in the marketplace. It looks like they got 10 different people just listing channels by themselves. Isn't this just simple common sense? Is anyone at SIRIUS looking at this thing? Fonts, spacing, spelling, continuity, all these details DO count!

Just a theory, but maybe it has to do with something about fitting in to the theme of each channel?

For example, there's channels like "Buzzsaw", "Octane", and "Faction" without the numbers in the official titles, but there's also channels like "Howard 100" and "Howard 101" that do have the numbers in the titles.

We know that each channel or category has a director. Perhaps it's up to the director how each channel is presented on the PDT?
