I know for a fact that they were doing this at one time, but they may have given up on that by now. I'm sure not very many people were happy with that.

Angry Sat. reception problems

I activated my account in the beginning of december , then all of a sudden ...right before new years, my reception went from perfect to spotty if not NOTHING. THis was in Boston, and now in DC/Baltimore . Whats the deal. Today there was nothing ...no reception and it was a perfectly clear day out ! WTF ?

Default Trouble in Saint Paul, MN

We've had Sirius for about a year with no problems. Customer support has always been great. Until now. 2 days ago our portable home unit started getting the 'acquiring signal' message. At the same time my wife noticed that here car radio was getting the same message but only with a block or so of the house. I tried a new antennae and even an old radio and got the same results. I moved the antennae outside and pointing straight up into a clear, blue sky. 'Acquiring signal'. It was mocking me now.
Since this all began on the same day it was obvious to me it wasn't an equipment issue. My first thought was that it had to be a transmitter issue. I called Sirius and was basically told to see what happens tomorrow. Fine. 'Acquiring signal'. I called Sirius again and was told that both radios were faulty even though they both work outside of the general area.
anyone else in the Twin Cities having problems? does anyone know if there could be something interfering with the signal? Maybe my neighbor is working on a giant Tesla coil or something...

I am having the exact same problem. I commute into downtown St. Paul. Starting Monday, 1/8, I started receiving 'No Signal' messages about 3-4 miles north of downtown, continuing into the whole downtown area. This has now happened 3 days in a row, starting at the exact same spot each day. There is definately something going on.....

Yeah you would be able to Classify that suit as a Failure to Provide Service.

Maybe they should stop giving Howard millions of dollars in junk stock options and start paying attention to the customer base and service.

Starting approx 3 days ago the same thing has happened to me here in Tampa Florida. Nothing has changed with my equipment. The has got to be a Satellite issue they are not telling us about!!!

Yep, here also. I also commute through St. Paul. Have two units, one is a Sportster and the other is an Xact. Both of them are "acquiring Signal" about 70-90% of the drive time. Annoying as all hell. Both of them started doing this just in the last few days. I did notice, to some extent, that while driving WEST, there is more of a problem then facing east. Both of them are external mounted roof antenna. I called Sirius and they said that it is an antenna issue...yeah, right, both units at the same time same moment same direction? Uh huh..sure. They checked and they show no issues with their satellite or terrestrial transmitters. People, something is going on....you don't have a bunch of individuals in the same area have the same problem at the same TIME!!!

I am having the same problem in St. Paul too. I work downtown and have to rely on the ground repeater and the signal strength was nil starting on Monday 1/8. A month or so ago, the signal was so strong I didn't even need to put my antenna next to the window! Time for a call to customer service I guess...

I am on the phone with tech support now, "he said hold on let me see what is going on" I explained what I have been reading on the forums and it is not isolated to just me. So we will see what the say.

Tech Support just told me "Sirius is having problems with one of there Satellites, it was brought to there attention yesterday and they hope to have corrected very soon" that is all I could get out of him. But at least they are acknowledging a problem.

Default St. Paul Issues

I also am in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area (Maplewood, actually) and am having problems with signal. This morning (7:30-9:15am or so) there was enough signal received in my North facing window. Currently, I have three out of nine terrestrial bars, and no satellite bars.

Any more information about satellite problems?

Thumbs down Twin Cities

It appears that there is more of a problem here in the Twin Cities than they are letting on, which is to say, when *I* spoke to them this morning, they said there was NO problem. I think we need to swamp them with calls...

The problem you guys are having is the same as here down south. It is a Sat issue. Check the tracking here http://www.dogstarradios.com/sirasasecoma.htmlhttp://www.dogstarradios.com/sirasasecoma.html
