Default No Signal Denver

For the last 3 days I have been unable to acquire a signal (NO SIGNAL). This is in my house and car. I dont feel optimistic Sirius will give me any helpful feedback but I am about to call them and will let you know what they say.

Anyone else having this problem in Denver last few days?

Well, looks like my S50 is fried. I went thru the hard reset and still no signal. No outages in my area. Told my only option is to buy a new unit. Very disappointing to pay as much as I did for a unit to last 2 years. Anyone have an S50 they want to sell?

I am out half the time in Vegas. Right now it is flicking between acquiring signal and being on, so it's unlistenable. This is the indoor signal, not satelite, the car one always works fine for us. It's the indoor that is the problem.

I live on Long Island and have been having occasional reception problems until yesterday afternoon. From that point until now all I get is "Acquiring Signal".

Any insight would be greatly appreciated........

Sounds like your antenna went.

Something is amiss at Sirius. I work in an office building in downtown Austin, Texas. Up until Monday I had no problem getting a signal from my thirteenth floor office. As of today, I can not get a signal. I know this is a signal problem and not a problem with my hardware because I have another Sirius radio (in dash) in my car and it too has started losing the signal in places it never has before. I called Sirius and they said that there were no problems with the repeater and that it had to be problems with my radios. I find it impossible to believe that after over two years of perfect reception that BOTH of my radios started have the exact same problem at the exact same time. I would bet money that Sirius is having problems with the signal but they are not fessing up to it.

Unhappy

Hey Austintejas...i also work downtown in Austin and had perfect reception up until Wednesday morning and noticed when i drove in the parking garage i lost my signal in my car...carried my sportster into the office and plugged it into my boombox and nothing but the dreaded "acquiring signal" message...finally called Sirius today(2:00 pm) and they said the repeaters were down and they should be up in a couple of days...yeah, we'll see...get perfect reception when receiving a satellite signal but nothing when trying to get a terrestial signal...regular radio sucks big time!! they said to call back when i do get a signal and they will give me credit for the days it was out.

I just bought a new unit and home kit, and I noticed the other day at around 2:08 AM, thats when the reception really starts to go. It did it 2 nights in a row around that time and lasts till morning. The first night I had my antenna in the window so I thought that was the problem. Then last night I put it outside. I had full signal power. Then at 2:08AM it went from 100% to 0%. Im near Pittsburgh, Pa.

MetalMamma:

I’m glad to hear it’s a Sirius problem and not with my specific reception.

Funny how when I called Sirius they said the repeater “was working just fine, it has to be your antenna…” I love Sirius, but their customer service has something to be desired.

I’m glad they fessed up to you and admitted they have had repeater problems.

Please keep me in touch if and when you get a signal again. I’ll do the same.

Do you guys loose signal when going in garages, passing bridges, etc....?
A friend of mine has Sirius, and gets signal everywhere, even inside closed parking garages?

Sounds like a problem with the antenna or perhaps the signal itself. It doesn't sound like a coverage problem to me. Call Sirius and maybe they'll replace your radio. My issue is more with "dead spots" and terrestrial interference than it is with complete loss of signal.

Is your antenna outside on the north-northwest side of your home and are there any obstructions in the immediate vicinity? Use a compass if need be.

It sound like you antenna is loosing the line of sight with the satellites.

Talking Austin repeater is online again!

The repeater in Austin, TX is working again since Friday evening(5/18)!!! I am so estatic!!!!! So it took Sirius 2 days to correct the problem here and i am so happy to have my satellite radio back...boredom does not even begin to describe those days without it at work.

Started having problems in Vegas with the sound going in and out during songs. Use to get reception in casino parking garages, now it's gotten worse.

At first I thought it was just my radio or antenna, but my gf is having the same problem and just today I saw a friend and he too is having dropouts during songs.

If this is a continued problem, i'm gonna have to cancel my subscription. It's very frustrating when you pay for a service and they say they have no problems in the area.
