At first I thought it was just my radio or antenna, but my gf is having the same problem and just today I saw a friend and he too is having dropouts during songs.

If this is a continued problem, i'm gonna have to cancel my subscription. It's very frustrating when you pay for a service and they say they have no problems in the area.

Started about 4 days ago for me.

Angry signal dropout Hamilton On. Canada

Noticed " aquiring signal"more frequently in last couple of weeks when there is no obstructions at all. I find even driving over a bridge with clear sight of satellites , it drops down to three bars or lower . I use to have no problem at all. I live in Hamilton On. Canada. My antenna is on the roof of my truck and is clear to the sky and held on by the magnut. Had it for nearly two years.
Haven,t phoned sirius yet, but I will try.
Thanks Don

My reception in Vegas is now just TERRIBLE. It was bad before, but now I can't even listen. It is acquiring signal just as much as it is working. Absolutely horrendous. This is just the inside signal, outside has been fine in my husband's car. They need to fix this! Or I will just have to cancel and listen online as we pay for 2 subscriptions.

I don't normally get these, but I had 4 drop-outs in my 7 mile drive to work today in Tuscaloosa, AL. The first was while driving next to some tall trees, but the other drop-outs were with clear views of the sky from my car. Now I'm at work, where that antenna is outside and aimed correctly for my region of the country, and am not seeing this problem.

Anyone else?

does Tuscaloosa have a repeater?

I've been getting a lot of momentary drop outs (spaced out) for a while now. Sirius' repeater network blows and is responsible for many urban signal problems, which is the very thing they were designed to fix.

Case in point, drove to Austin last weekend and didn't have a single dropout once I got out of range of the Houston repeater.

No, we don't have one here. Closest one is in Birmingham. We don't have enough tall buildings for a repeater to be necessary.

Good to know it's not just me. I'm also located in the Pittsburgh area, and for the past three weeks, my reception has been terrible. My commute is typically 30 minutes, and it spends most, if not all of that time trying to acquire a signal. Either that, or I get a message on my receiver that says "tuner error." I have a Kenwood EZ700SR with a built-in tuner, and it has worked perfectly for almost two years now. I've driven all over the country, and I can't remember anyplace in which I couldn't get a signal. I don't think it's my equipment, because it always works perfectly again later in the day. I checked all of my connections, and everything is fine. I'm convinced there's something happening on their end that's causing this.

With the Trees in full bloom and so many backroads tree lined to the point of forming a tunnel of branches, my Radio is constantly dropping. One road in Central NJ has all the punch lines bleeped out just from a 30 second linking. Howard is supposed to be uncensored, but this is crap.

Does anyone know if there is something Sirius is doing to maintain signal strength in Central NJ???

I have contacted sirius today to complain about their NASCAR channel. They normal have The Morning Drive on, but today, they where sampling a new show, "Aquiring Signal". I told them that my antenna is located on the side of my deck lid. I have always yead my satelliet antenna's there (include my xm one). They tell me that is the problem and that I need to move it to the roof. I told them that this is more of a recent problem and at work I have an xm antenna plugged into my docking station for my SIRIUS radio and that works fine. They had no comment on that. I asked if have done any testing with XM's antenna's and their satellite's. I have not heard back. I may put the xm antenna back in my car and see if that does anything.

Just some info, I am in North/Central NJ (union county for you to compare) and it was raining today, but I was not under tree's when i was losing my signal.

According to my PNP1 unit, it says I have full strength but the reception is crap. This I know is a repeater signal since I have had the antenna pointed towards the known repeater and it was working until yesterday.

Wonder if they had to back off power again like the last time.

I'm going to have to give them a call, it's been a month now and I'm still having problems. No signal at all during the morning commute, perfect reception the rest of the day. This is after two years of flawless performance. I'm willing to bet they tell me it's my equipment, but that wouldn't explain why it's always down at the exact same time every day and then starts working again at the exact same time every day. I love my Sirius when it works, but if they don't fix this soon I'm going to be forced to switch to XM.

I've been having this "Aquiring signal" crap for about a month. At times both at my house and my car, the radio would remain like this from five minutes to a half hour. I will call sirius because this crap is wasting my money. Luckly I still have my XM account and I do not get the crap like sirius. I went to sirius for nascar and got more rock channels but if sirius does not fix the problems, I will cancel sirius, get new XM radio, get sirius out of car, have XM Professionally installed, and I'll be happy.

The Vegas ground repeaters are seemingly going to crap. I'm getting used to seeing "Acquiring Signal" or just having choppy reception more and more often in the past several months.

Edit: This is only at home where I am dependent on the ground signal. In the car, everything is fine. I don't like having to use the online player because I want the signal in all rooms over the FM.
