Is this a recent development related to the topic of this thread or is it something that's always been that way. If it's always been that way, you're in the wrong thread.

Unhappy 3RD Sportster Replay

This is my 3rd replay and I seem to have the same problem every time.Everything works fine for the first 3 months and then I slowly loose reception with the signal taking longer and longer to come in eventualy disapearing for good.If I plug in my home kit antena it works fine so it is obviously my antena that is failing just wondering if anyone else is having this problem!!! So its of to the store to exchange for the 4th unit

I would like to hear from those of you who would be so kind as to post your experiences. I'm trying to bring some media attention to this issue. We're all paying our subscription to Sirius and not getting what we pay for while they've done onthing to respond to our concerns
I posted my experience. Earlier in the thread I mentioned that i was getting great reception in the evening, today I can't get anything. I thought you were unsubbing your account... Who put the stick up your a$$?

Just an update--this morning, the signal was available immediately when I tuned in (6:30 am CT).

Update from near Boston...after my first few days with a Sirius and signal problems, on Friday I never lost signal all day and at times it was hovering up to 10/10 bars, rather than 4/10 and intermittent signal.

Today (Monday), it's back to 4/10, but no dropouts so far. Keeping fingers crossed! FYI - Still only getting the signal from the sats, no repeater signal.

Update from Wisconsin:
I had an issue with a PNP3 that had worked fine for 18months up until the 2nd week in November. It seemed to start after receiving some programming updates. I had was intermittent dropouts, despite my signal showing 3 bars. Sirius "support" suggested it was a bad radio. I believed it to be their fault.

I have just installed a Sportster 4 and have yet to experience a dropout. While the problem appears to have been a defective radio, the fact that it was brought about after a programming update still doesn't rest well with me.

Side note: It will take me a while to get used to a lack of auto-dimming like my PNP3 had. Damn you, blue light!!

Default Denver Signal

The Denver signal was gone from 8:00 all the way to 8:25 when I got to work. My renewal is coming up and I was wondering if I was going to renew. This is the final nail in the coffin. Will not be renewing. Now I have $$$ investing in a Sportster replay and 2 docking stations that will go into storage for a few years until I throw it out. Too bad, too. For the first few months I had the service I kept telling people how great it was. Chatty DJs, poor poor poor customer service and the persistant signal drops makes me wonder if it will survive.

I'm in Richmond VA metro area. We've been having drop outs for the past couple of months but they've really picked up over the past week or so. I contacted Sirius CS and they tell me Sirius no longer has any Technical Support, they know they have repeater issues and they are trying to correct them. Blah, Blah, Blah. I know it's not the radio because on a drive to /from Florida it worked flawlessly. I also have friends here with the same complaint. my guess is that Sirius has made some maintenance cuts and are now feeling the pain.

Make sure you continue to call them, repeatedly if necessary. The only way to get this resolved is to flood them with phone calls until they finally do something about it. I would think there's a way to complain to the FCC about this. I'll look into it and report any findings.

Reluctantly cancelled my subscription last week. 6 weeks with no signal.

Next step is XM.

WTF did you do Sirius?!?

Wow--4th day in a row I was able to get a signal right away. I feel 'lucky' even though I shouldn't, considering I paid for the service to work (!)

The FCC has no control over Sirius, and that's the way we want to keep it!!
