Arrow Sirius in mp3/Aux plug on 07 Acura TL-TypeS ??

I'm thinking of getting a 07 TL TypeS today. There Navigation stereo has an mp3/AUX plug that is setup to make whatever is plugged into it be able to work and be controlled through the radio controls of the car.......

.........If I plugged a Sirius Sportster into the mp3/AUX port....... would it work through my radio????

yes it will work, but i think you might be thinking the info (song title, atrist) will stream throught the aux port, and the radio controls will switch the station, which none of that will through the port, you will simply get the sound and that is it......

But I will be able to change channels through my regular radio controls? They said you could do all that with an mp3 player through they aux.

no you will not be able to change channels through the aux input using a pnp sirius unit......

the only way with honda/acura to use the radio conrols to control a mp3 unit (ipod) is to use either the music link adapter that connects to the rear of the radio itself and actually acts like a remote cd changer. or you can get 1 of many aftermarket adapters that do the same thing usa spec blitzsafe etc and control your ipod through your radio controls

but to simply plug in a 1/8 stereo cable into the aux plug, no matter what they tell you, WILL NEVER nothing more than adjust the volume, you will still have to do all the station changing through the sportster.starmate, stilleto, etc itself.....no way of getting around that yet........

I bought a 07 Type last week and am debating right now what the best way to install Sirius is. Using the Aux port in the center console is what I'm leaning towards since I have also have the 12V power jack in the same place. All I need is to decide on the Plug and Play receiver and then buy the cable that you can use with the existing XM antenna. The downside is the actual location of the receiver in the center console but I can live with that...just tune to channel 100 and leave it there
