Default XM conversion

A friend of mine just bought an Avalanche that has XM in it.

I remember some talk on the Stern show a few months ago about some type of device to switch the 'brains' on preinstalled units.

Is there any such device so he can get sirius on his xm stereo?

The answer is simple MAYBE...

It depends on the application.

IF the Avalanche is a 2007...not a chance in hell.

If it's a 2006 and the radio has the right connector then..

Yes, a SIR-GM1 is for you.

Can always use a PNP unit.
My 2007 Tahoe with a Bose Nav has a front mounted AUX jack that I plug my S50 into.
