Default Switching OEM antenna out - Glue, glue glue

I installed the new 2006 OEM unit in my 2006 Frontier and used the supplied "on the windshield" antenna located in the cab above the rear view mirror. I keep getting "no signal", is there known problem with this antenna? I double and triple checked all my wiring and the signal keeps dropping out. I spent a lot of money for the OEM tuner and expect it to work correctly. I can get a clear signal with my Sportser and its antenna laid on the ground next to my truck but no signal from my truck system. I drive down the street with clear views of the sky and it just drops in and out.

Any ideas or help on this issue???

I am assuming it is just a bad antenna design. But now how do I get the antenna and glue off of my windshield? Is the Terk with FAKRA connector my best choice? Also the Rockford Fosgate tuner has no guide on how the Sirus Tuner interfaces with it. Not too clear on what all of the capabilities are, no manual.

Thanks!!

Sorry I can't offer more than this, but I have a factory installed Sirius HU in my '05 Explorer, and a Sportster 4 in my other car. The factory install drops the signal a lot more frequently than the sportster. In fact, there's a section of road that I travel regularly and go under a group of overpasses. I lose the signal everytime in the factory installed unit, but never lose it on the sportster. Antenna in both cases is on the roof of the vehicle near the back, and is not under the roof rack in either case. Must be a better tuner or something in the newer models (that's technical talk
