Default Ideas wanted for Acura MDX 07'

Just got a 07 MDX I am very disapointed that Acura does not offer a choice in sat comp. So I need to get sirius put in. Problem is with the tech package will the fm trans disrupt the Nav? I saw a sirius product at best buy that uses the car antena as your sirius antena will the product work? Any help would be great thanks

Get a Plug and play and a SAt-SW8 (FM Switch)run it through the built in fm modulator and it shouldnt affect the stock radio at all.Keep your sirius antenna away from the Nav antenna. All should be fine.

That is a damned good looking interior.

If it were mine I would not be happy about having to stick a pnp in there, particularly given the degraded sound qual you will get as a result.

I am just so mad at you for having such a beautifull bad ass Acura that I am speechless. The only thing to go with something this beautiful would have to be a Stiletto if you cannot get the factory in-dash to work. Seriously, beautiful ride. I am a HUGE Honda fan. Cars done right with practicality, beauty, functionality, and reliablity.

yeh thats a problem -- if you dont get the xm you wont have the traffic.

even if i were a siri-only fan, i think i would have to consider xm for this one.

i had a pnp in a nice car at one point and vowed never again -- from now on it is factory for me.

Have you considered an Aux In Adapter? PIE makes a number for Acura, maybe they make one that will work for you. TSS-Radio carries a lot of them.

The sound quality will be better and you can turn off the FM transmitter. There might be an issue between the satellite antenna and the GPS (nav) antenna, but separating them should fix that.

You might also consider a small receiver, like the Visor, that can be easily concealed.

I appreciate all the input and jealousy out there ... I do like the real time traffic even though I dont spend a lot of time driving ( I am not on the road for work) I would Actually like to be able to have BOTH Sirius and XM work off the OEM Unit. Once I figure out the install and it MUST be a discrete install I will post some pictures for all you drooling mokes ... thanks for the help and if you come up with more let me know.
