Default interference

New to Sirius and this forum. i bought my son a Sportser 4 and Boombox kit for Christmas. Have not put it in the car yet but in the basemenr apartment in my house it had no signal. I bought the home distribution kit from TSS that included the external antenna, 2 Diplexors and an apdapter to go from F type connector into the back of the radio . Mounted the external antenna on my now non function Dish bracket and ran the signal back to my utility room through an RG6 direct run. In the utility room I connected the Sirius antenna and a cable input to the sirius F connectors on the Diplexor/combiner. I then ran an RG6 cable to an existing outlet in the basement and attached a short cable from that outlet into the Diplexor/splitter. I have very good signals and sound from the Sportster 4, and great cable signal to my TV, whwn each is used independently. When I play the Sportster 4 and the Cable TV sinmultaneously, I get snowy type interference on the TV. If I shut off the Sportster 4, the TV immediately clear up. This is not a huge problem as normally they would not be used at the same time, but I didn't expect this interference. I apologize for any incoherent or incorrect technical descriptions. Any any suggestions or input on this situation would ne appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Default Interference issues

I believe that the splitter causes a lot of interference issues. I can't get my HD TV box to work on the same line as the sirius splitter.

Default splitter

I'm a little bummed out aboiut this. The reason I bought this setup was to use the specific functionality that was described, (i.e. to use a common RG6 cable to run both Sirius and CableTV signals). I could very easily have run the Cable to one outlet and the Sirius signal to another, and not introduced a splitter and combiner, which don't seem to split and/or combine very effectively. The use of an common outlet was a matter of convenience due to its location in the room.

Make sure to use an Iron, the Woods don't ground as well.

Default HD Conflicts

Does anybody know how to resolve the issues with the Sirius interfering with the HD signal? I purchased a amplifier thinking that I had added to many connections. These seamed to help at first and then I began to have problems again. It also interfered with the normal cable. I uninstalled the Sirius splitters and am now thinking of running a new line to my front room. However this kind of defeats the purpose of this whole kit.

To resolve interference you can try grounding the splitter and the television. It doesn't have to be a hard install, just get some jumper wires from radio shack (wires with alligator clips) and clip them around to see what happens. Like the metal box from the splitter to a pipe or a metal screw on the television chassis. See what happens. If the interference clears you can have an electrician ground the equipment through an outlet. Also make sure your cable entry is grounded.

//EDIT you can also try a bandpass filter on the television.

Has anyone just left the external antenna in the attic for reception? Will that work? I hate to drill into my siding, but I am tired of the loss of signal inside.

If you going to the attic just run the cable out one of the vent holes and glue that puppy to the roof with some silicon or something.

I am having the same problem. I was wondering if anyone had a solution. I installed the splitter on the same line I use for my TV. Now when the Sirius is on there are 5 HD channels that I can't watch. As soon as I turn off the Sirius the channels come right on. Thanks.

FYI...this is the kit I bought: http://www.tss-radio.com/sirius-catv...on-p-4093.html
