Question Loud Sportster Replay + Boombox

I am having a problem with my Sportster Replay + Boombox. I may just be noticing the problem now because I have a fever and headache, but it is definitely a problem. I've had the radio and Boombox for one year.

Mainly, the problem is that I have the output level and volume turned down as low as I can get them, but the boombox is still extremely loud. The only two volume settings I can get are Death Metal concert loud , or Jet Engine loud. Why is that? Shouldn't I be able to turn it lower when I wake up, so that I don't get blasted at 6:30 in the morning? My ears can't take it.

The worst part is, when I turn the radio off (With it still plugged into the boombox) and turn it back on again, it forgets that I just turned the output level all the way down, so it goes back to screaming bloody-ear-deafness volume again.

Anybody experienced this with the setup I describe? I have the Sirius brand Sportster Replay and the Sirius Boombox designed for it.

Thanks for anybody's help with the matter. My head hurts.

Check the output level on the Sportster itself. It's one of the menu options.

I did, like I said, I turned the volume all the way down on the boombox and replay, plus went to the output level menu and turned it all the way down. Can someone with an actual Sportster Replay+Boombox tell me if theirs is loud or not? I mean, can't I turn it down like my T.V.'s volume?

I have one and it turns all the way down to the point you can't hear it. The Sportster's output level is at mid-range. Mine seems fine. The only problem I have is that the balance between right and left seems a little off.

That's weird. Maybe I should try my output at mid-range, then turn the volume all the way down. I can't get it replaced because it's out of warranty, but thank you for your help Butler.

When you plug the Sporster Replay in the boombox it automatically reverts to mid level output. So EVERYTIME you put the Sporster in the Boombox you will have to max out the output levels again.

I think I've figured it out, for anyone who cares to know.

All you do is plug in headphones, and apparently, when you do that, it overrode the volume control on the boombox, and let me go lower. This makes no sense, but then again, nothing does when it comes to electronics. So, just plug some headphones into your boombox, and turn the volume down, unplug 'em, and you can listen to the boombox at more reasonable levels.

Thanks.
