Unhappy SIR-GM1 Display

I realize that I have to give up some of the display to use this unit but does anyone know if there is a way to make the time display while the sat radio is playing? Right now the time is only displayed during the cucle of screens when you hit display and goes away with large characters displaying the channel number instead of the time.

I have the SIR-GM1 in a 2005 Impalla with the basic GM CD player standard radio. It sounds great and works well, I would just like to have the time back.

Thanks so much!

In my '06 Equinox, there's a clock button. You press it once and the time shows up for a few seconds, then returns to normal. I don't know if there's a way to make it stay permanently. I know the display operates esentially the same way with the SIR-GM1 as it does with the OEM XM unit.

Thanks but my radio does not have a clock button but it does display the clock at the end of the name/title/genre rotation for just a few seconds and then back to the channel number.

Smile Fixed it!

I read the car's owners manual of all things. I just had to hit the display button until the display I wanted to keep up full time came up and then hold the display button for 2 seconds and it beeped and I am all set.

So now my clock stays up with the artist name. Hope this helps someone else.

Default Exactly what displays?

I'm struggling between Sportster 4 and SIR-GM1 in my 2006 H3. I like the functionality and portability of the Sportster but like the perfectly clean install of the SIR-GM1.

My radio is the Monsoon with 6-disk changer built in. It does not have XM from the factory, but it does have the "band" button.

Can anyone tell me exactly what displays from Sirius, how it displays? How many characters, etc?

I'd like to get a good feel for what I'm in for, before I buy it and go to all the trouble of installing it.

Thanks
