Default Static/Installation Question

I just purchased the Sportster 4 and installed it myself in my Taurus. I am having the problems like most are with the crappy FM Modulator. I have a full satalite signal but get 95% static through the speakers. I tried many different frequencies and still nothing. The funny thing is I can grab the antena and move it closer to the transmitter in the glass and it gets better. After enough reading of the forums, today I ordered the FM Modulator Relay kit http://www.tss-radio.com/sirius-wire...elay-p-118.htm.

I guess my big question is...If I had the guys at Best Buy install this, would they put in the Modulator Relay kit? Two of the guys I work with have the same company car as I and their Sirius system that Best Buy installed is clear as a bell. What gives? What does Best Buy (or other installers) do differently?

Default coincidence? fm switch...

Maybe the installers include the fm switch in their installation package along with routing the antenna wire and hardwiring the dock. If they didn't, then it may be just the fact that the current wiring placement is not causing any interferance. I took a couple of road trips where by placing the wires of my dock different ways (sounds crazy.... I know) improved my fm transmission.

regardless... the fm switch is a great way to go and I'm sure they would do it for you as part of the overal install package (if they don't already).

Default

So does it sound like I should be all set after I install the FM switch? Like I said, I have a full signal but no sound, so this should bypass all the FM transmission issues and in essence direct wite the audio into the radio, right?
