The FM trasmitter it weak... to put it nicely... look for an older trasmitter (I use an iRiver FM transmitter) or get a FM direct connector deal

i got the fm direct connector and still the same thing. we now have this problem with two seperate vechicles, two seperate car kits, and two seperate fm connectors.(mine and my buddys)

now i used the fm direct connector for my old sirius reciever and it works great...so it must be a setting on the stiletto or the car kit.....

but what setting could it be?>

did you connect the fm direct into the dock? might sound like a silly question, but some people don't know.. also, is everything plugged in right?
make sure the power stays plugged in, mine kept on coming out of the lighter outlet until I was told to kinda pull out the little metal wings that keep a tight connection.
and once all that is set, with the stiletto in the dock, go to settings and then you should see something that says dock. the setting to turn on the dock and fm transmitter should be in there.

Was there any magic into figuring this out, or was it just process of elimination.

process of elimintation...then went to circuit city talked to the guys in the road shop and they informed us that for the stiletto and the s50 u cannot just hardwire it without reducing the voltage......that the voltage is reduced with the cig lighter plug included with the car doc...they suggested getting a new car dock..wiring in another cig lighter behind the dash and plugging it into that....i did that and it works great now!

so anyone hardwiring these....please be cautious!
