Default HELP....Setup FM direct adapter in '05 CIVIC

Hello,

I am new to sirius satellite radio, but like it so far. I am interested in getting better reception with my starmate 4 replay. Right now, I am thinking of getting the FM direct adapter and installing it in my civic. Is this easy to do?

Is there anything else I need to get besides the FM direct adapter? Will this drastically improve my reception? Does anyone have any experience setting the FM direct adapter in their '05 civic?? Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hooking up the FM direct adapter is pretty easy to do but does require the lower dash to be taken apart so you can access the back of the radio. I think the instructions say to remove the radio in order to disconnect/connect the antenna but I installed one in my 2000 Civic last month and I didn't have to remove the radio. I looked at a pic of the 2005 Civic dash and they appear pretty much the same.

Good luck.

If it's anything like a 2001 Civic, I had to remove the center console, lower dash, then pop out the upper dash with the radio to get to the motorola plug. The Good news it that you don't need any adapters since it uses a standard plug. My Ford Windstar on the other hand required a special ford adapter.
