Default "Aquiring" and no sound?

I have a Directed electronics Sirius module (ALP-1) that plugs right into my Alpine MMS head unit and every once in awhile, my Sirius signal will go out, and it says aquiring on my radio display, at the time I am NOT driving under any bridges, etc... there is nothing blocking the view for the antenna. I have replaced the antenna, already to see if that was the problem, I also changed the position of where I mounted it on the roof of my truck. I drive in these areas every day and it does the same exact thing. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Sirius has turned off some of there terrestrial repeaters in the northern part of the city and suburbs. It's a temporary thing, at least that's what they say, due to issues with the FCC and some wireless carriers. Do you know if you were receiving the terrestrial or satellite signal before this problem occured? Are you traveling mostly on the northern side of the city?

Check the antenna wire for exposed wire. That could cause the signal to weaken. Also look at the antenna connector, and if there is not a solid piece of plastic connecting the wire and the connector together, it could be that. If either of those is the culprit, your best bet is to get a new antenna. I personally recommend this antenna from TSS-Radio: http://www.tss-radio.com/directed-el...enna-p-81.html because it has strong magnets and a good signal. I think the $19.95 antenna TSS radio offers is the one that came with the original Streamer, and that was known to not provide the strongest of signals, and the magnets holding it on are fairly weak.

I travel the north west side of atlanta (Marietta) never lost any terrestrial signal when I was listening to it. It is kinda wierd how it does this everytime when I am in that particular spot of the road in those areas. I hope it is temporary. If not I will just have to live with it. I just bought a Sirius INV radio for my friend and I am going to see if his does it in those spots that mine does. guess that is one way to find out if it is the radio itself or the antenna or just Sirius signal. Thanks for your Reply's...
