Default fuse question (Starmate 4)

I just received a Starmate 4. It works great in the home dock. But I get no power to it in the car. My cell phone will charge when powered through the cigarette lighter, so I know its providing power.

A fuse came with the Starmate 4 with no instructions what to do with it. I don't see a place in the lighter adapter where I can open it and change the fuse. Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Rob

I dont know about the Starmate but on my Sportster 4 cig lighter plug there is a fuse on the inside of the unit. You have to pry it open and then you will see it.

The tip of the Starmate 4 power plug unscrews. Grab the little plastic disc with the center prong and turn it counter clockwise..

Below is a picture of a plug taken apart. You can see the top piece that unscrews and where the fuse sits. (You don't have to take he whole plug apart.. The fuse will drop out when you unscrew the tip)

Try reversing the spring and the fuse. I had the exact same problem until I did that, and I know a few other people here have had that work.

Before:
tip fuse spring base

Try:
tip spring fuse base

Thanks for all the help. The problem is the black cap does not have any thread, so it can't screw on the end. It was like that out of the box. I have already used the radio with the home setup, so I can't return it.

Where can I purchase a Sirius power plug that would worlk with the Starmate 4 (5 v). I checked Circuit City, Best Buy, and CompUSA. I didn't see any Sirius plugs, and all the universal were the wrong voltages.

I saw some on e-bay, worse comes to worse.
