Default question about sir-gm1

I have a silverado w/ a bose deck, but no factory xm. I was wondering about the power. I know i can splice into the orange wire from the cigarette lighter, but where is a good place to ground? Just any metal piece?

It depends on the year of your vehical.

The SIR-GM-1 will not work with the stock radio's for 2007.
If your HU is compatable it comes with the cables you need.

I plugged it in and spliced it into the cigeratte lighter and just did a quick ground to the seat bolts to see if it would work. I pressed band, but nothing happened! It didnt switch to sr1 or anything like that?

any idea?

its plugged into my deck, and has power, and antenna is plugged in
