Default After market FM transmitter question

I know c.crane sells a fm transmitter thats very nice but with a vehicle mounting kit it costs around $100. I saw this one on fleabay which is very cost effective. Just wondering if anyone has used it and if so has anyone opened it up and tried to mod it to get more range. It states it gets 10 to 20 feet. I would require a 100-150ft range.

I think this is one of those times where you get what you pay for. I've never seen more than 10-20ft out of those little units.

Yeah that's what it states 20ft max. I was wondering if anyone purchased one and tried to mod it to get more range. The c.crane fm transmitter has an adjustable pot inside. Maybe this cheap transmitter can be modded as well to increase range. I'm probably going to order one and play with it, seeing it isn't much money. It might be as easy as changing out a fixed resistor with a variable pot.
