Exclamation Wait for wiped alcohol pad to dry before installing antenna?

I just finished installing the universal car kit for my Stratus only to realize that I did it in such a hurry that I didn't wait for the alcohol to dry before I slapped on the antenna and plastic tail.

Should the alcohol be able to evaporate by itself or would it be there until I undo my antenna mount, wipe dry the surface, and put the antenna on again?

It shouldn't be a problem. The alcohol is probably dry now.

The antennas are basically waterproof, unless it's sitting in a deep puddle of water for an extended period of time, it should be fine.

Performance-wise, it does way better than my old XTR1. The audio definitely sounds less compressed (don't know why) and in the areas where my XTR1 would drop out, the Stratus doesn't.

Functionality, it's what you get with the price. When viewing by Categories, it can only display 2 channels at a time, so there's not much of a List view. There's no artist-seek or song-seek features, no alarm or sleep function, and it can only display either the Time or the channel name at one time (you have to choose which one in the menu).

Also, the rocking-style buttons take some time getting used to and may feel unresponsive at times. Since fighting with a radio wouldn't be the best idea when driving, I bought a SV1 remote (which is Stratus-compatible) off ebay for $5.

Besides it's shortcomings, the Stratus makes a good relatively-low-cost introductory unit to Sirius.
