Default No Sat signal Only Repeater

Just got my first Sirius.....Sportster Replay Home/Car.

Just my luck my apartment faces east. I am south of Toronto, Ontario, so I suppose Northwest / West is optimal.

I have full signal on my repeater but a big 0 bars on my Sat.

Will it work..??

I pickup the generic "Please activate" and the weather/emergency channel just fine.

I am only asking to get a better feel of which plan to sign up for.

Worst case scenario -- I can use my PC at home and my Sat radio in the car only.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Yes.. It will work fine with a repeater only signal. You're lucky there is a repeater nearby.. Without it you would have no reception at all

Amen to that. Us folks in Harrisburg, PA have plenty of Sat, but no repeater signal at all. If I lived where only a strong repeater signal existed, then I could get Sirius in large buildings as well as outside. The only problem I can see with your situation is what happens if your repeater goes out for maintenance, or heaven forbid, a FCC mandate to turn it off for some reason for an extended period, then you'll get no signal at all. At least I can get a signal in my vehicle and at my house using an antenna. So pray you don't have any repeater problems.

It'll most definitely work, and just as an FYI:
When the repeater signal strenth is so strong (because you're very close to it), it cancels out the SAT signal. So when you look at the SAT bars, it may look like you don't have any SAT reception but that is not necessarily the case.
