Angry Ready to give up on Sirius!

I’m about ready to give up on Sirius. I got a Sportster 4 with car dock and boom box for Christmas. I was able to get activated last Thursday but my Sportster 4 stopped working in the car last Friday afternoon. It still works fine on the boom box just not in the car. Since then, I’ve changed the fuse in my car and the fuse in the power cord (as per Sirius Tech Support), though neither looked to have failed. My XM Roady is still working fine using the same power outlet. Does anyone out there have a better fix? I’ve been dealing with Sirius for a week and I am ready to just forget it. My expectations are that, after my next phone call, they will send me a new car unit or I’ll cancel stay with XM. Has anyone gotten replacement parts from Sirius or has anyone had difficulty returning items to the shop at How about canceling service? Any advice would be appreciated.

Could you be a little more specific?
I think you're saying that you're not getting power to your Sportser 4 but you know that it's not your outlet in your car.

Sounds like you have a bad dock from what I can tell.

I've replaced the fuse on my cigarette lighter adapter. It didn't look blown but I replaced it anyways. Also, my xm roady, cell phone charger and radar detector all work fine using that outlet. I'll call Sirius at lunch and see if they offer any further advice.

I had this happen with my S50 once and it was the power adapter, not the dock.

IF you can take it to the store, do it!! Don't go through the warranty center, it is a nightmare!! My SP4 has been down since Novemeber and I can't get them to send me out a new one! The worst thing is that all I need is a new antenna!!

Yeah the power cord's a goner... And it probably be easier to go through a local retailer.

Cause even if you get to warranty, there's a flat 50% chance they might put you through a runaround.

They're should be a faulty component replacement line but that makes too much sense

I got an RMA number from sirius yesterday and I'm returning everything and getting my money back. I've never delt with a company with such poor customer service. I'm the exact customer they are targeting and they did absolutely nothing to work with or help me. I had XM and was following NASCAR to Sirius just like they must have been planning for people like me to do. I was willing to purchase aftermarket parts to improve the FM reception. All they needed to do was send me a new car kit the day I called and told them mine was defective. Instead the offered great suggestions such as "is your radio plugged in?", "you just need to replace the fuse in your car", "you just need to replace the fuse in the cigarette adapter plug" and the best was "I don't know what the problem could be. Is there something else I can help you with?". I'm going to stick with XM for now. Good luck to those of you with a similar problem.
Also, the woman who gave me the RMA number was the best customer service rep. I talked to and I reached her at the 1-800-422-7142 number. I got zero help using the 1-888... number. I don't know if they go to the same place but you may want to give that number a try.

fantastic! sound like when they told me "sorry but there isn't anybody here that can help you". that's right they had no supervisors available. and when i left messages for them, they never called me back.

i will be on my 4th radio in 1 year soon. they are sending me another replacement. and it only took them 1 month to do it and ZERO calls, e-mails or anything to let me know what was going on. and warranty center has NO info when i give them my claim number. but they originated it how else would i have a claim number? but the warehouse has my claim number? does that make sense to anyone?
