Question Line Out on the new Docking Stations is 3.5mm right? (please read why I ask)

Sorry this is a bit of a dumb question (which I couldn't find search results on)

I'm assuming they're standard 3.5mm like your standard miniplug earphone type connector. But the reason I ask is because I was looking on Ebay at some P-Bus connectors for Pioneer car decks (these are the adapters that turn the cd changer connector to an input) and they have some that have RCA inputs and some with a minijack connector. BUT, in the description they say the connector is 2.5mm which doesn't make any sense.

By the way this is for the Sportster 4 universal dock. I think the FM out is 2.5 and the line out is 3.5

Thanks

Yep.. The AUDIO-OUT is a standard stereo 3.5mm plug like most earphones have.

(You should have got a connecting cable with your radio kit. They include a cable with a 3.5mm plug on one end and a pair of RCA plugs on the other)...

Yeah I've got plenty of those 3.5mm to RCA cables, but it's kind of retarded that the P-Bus connector goes to a 2.5mm jack. It would be nice to just run from the deck right to the Sirius receiver and cut out an extra adapter. Maybe that 2.5mm description was a mistake. In the ad, they say it's the standard 1/8" earphone sized 2.5mm jack; but I thought that was 3.5mm.

This is the one I use:

maybe the 2.5mm was a mistake? 2.5mm seems a bit odd for an aux adapter.

That looks pretty good. I'd like to get one from the Ebay sellers selling the same thing because they're $10 cheaper. But, this one has the right angle jack which is pretty handy considering where my PNP dock is mounted in my car.

Did you actually order from installer.com?

Yeah I ordered it from them. Arrived in 4 days. That's the second item I've bought from them without a problem. BTW, when you hook it up to the P-Bus input on the back of the Pioneer headunit, you've just got to make sure you activate the Aux. source in the Pioneers menu. Just in case you didn't know that already.

Thanks Greg. I actually ended up ordering one for $14.99 total with shipping from an Ebay seller that specializes in these. I ended up getting the one with RCA plugs since I already have an RCA to right-angle minijack cable (that came with my home kit).

I did read about activating the input in the Pioneer menu, but I'll have to give it a try when it gets here.. I actually bought a new headunit just for this Sirius deck to work. I already had a Pioneer deck, but it didn't have the P-Bus option, so I picked one up from Ebay for $60 total.

Man, I've already spent more on these accessories than my girlfriend did buying the Sportster 4 in the first place!

the CD-RB10 type adapter I got off Ebay worked well. Nice and neat install with the new deck and all. Also installed a new cigarette type socket behind the dash to hardwire the docking station..
