Default Need replacement AC adapter for Oribiter boombox SB4000

I lost the AC adapter for the Orbiter boombox SB4000 and have been unable to find a replacement. Radioshack was beyond unhelpful, tss-radio.com is sold out, and on ebay I have not seen just the AC adapter listed and I don't need another boobox/car mount/etc. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement adapter? The back of the boombox says 12V 2.5a but I have been unable to find a non boombox specific one, any thoughts on where I could get one?

Does the home unit have the same AC adapter?

Thanks for your time!

This should work. Don't know if the tip is the right one, but that can be resolved with a trip to Radio Shack and a soldering iron.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it!

98Silverado, thanks for the link. I may order

http://www.mpja.com/directview.asp?product=16781+PS

since the back of the boombox has 2.5A stamp, not sure if 3 would fry it? Thanks for the link, that site is great!

PhillyPhan if I have problems there is an ebay seller with a bunch of home kits for $20 total. Thanks for the info on the power supply.

More amperage (3 vs. 2.5 A) won't hurt. It's the voltage. A device will only draw as much current (read Amps) as it needs. So you would just have current to spare. Glad I could help.

Default Update

I ordered the
http://www.mpja.com/directview.asp?product=16781+PS

and

http://www.mpja.com/productview.asp?product=7378+WI

No connector modifications were needed, worked out of the box and finally have the orbiter boom box working again!

Thanks for the help!

This is great to know because many people still enjoy the Orbiter or original Streamer or DISH SR200 in the Orbiter SB4000 boombox.
