Default A Glimmer of Hope for Customer Service

My starmate replay went down last week, and I called for warranty service (I was real close to the end of it). I was surprised after hearing about how difficult the warranty issues have been, I got a new ST4 in less than a week.

I think the trick, is that you just have to deal with the weak transmitters and suck up the extra cost of buying new accessories, because if you try to get them to send you an ST2, you will be waiting a while.

Hopefully, going to the universal docking system, will alleviate this problem in the future.

And as Murphy's Law would have it, I had bid on an old ST2 on eBay thinking that it would take them forever to get me my replacement. And of course I won (for only $45 bucks though) so I may just say heck with it and activate two receivers.

If you are waiting for a warranty unit, and you called prior to last week, I would call them asap and tell them you've been waiting. Apparently they are using a new warehouse in California, and it is supposed to speed things up. I got an email saying it was shipped out, and actually had it the very next day. The whole process took about 7 days.

That's great that they have a warehouse in California now. I had to deal with warranty back in October and my radio came out of Florida. I was scared to say the least hearing some bad feedback around this forum.

Everything worked out for me, but I know folks have had trouble with the Florida warehouse.
