Question In need of some advice please!!!!

So like i said in my previous posts, i was having some problems with my JVC Sirius radio head unit getting messages like "Reset 8", "Antenna Not Detected", etc... so i returned to Best Buy and since my JVC receiver is under manufacturer warranty for 1 year and its been less than that, they replaced my receiver with a brand new JVC receiver and installed it all again. Well everything started working perfectly fine for now, till a few weeks or maybe a month later, i got the "reset8", " Antenna Not Detected", etc.. message again. So now, i can't listen to my sirius radio at all. So thats where my question comes in.. i don't know what else to do now, i already had my radio replaced and got a brand new receiver, but no matter how many times i get a brand new receiver swapped out, im positive that i will still get the "reset8"," antenna not detected", etc.. message, so now my question is this...do you think i have a defected tuner? cause i already replaced my radio with a brand new one, so it can't be my receiver, it has to be the tuner or my antenna, so what do ya'll think? I need help so please help me out. I'm thinking about getting a new tuner cause i'm almost 99.9% positive that its the tuner. So anyways, please help me out, i need your advice on what to do, cause i'm stuck and don't know what else to do. Thanks

Sincerely,
Steve

Was the antenna replaced when you swapped out the tuner?

Nope, the antenna wasn't replaced at all, it is the same antenna i had when i bought and had my JVC unit first installed. All they did was take out the old unit and put a brand new one in leaving the tuner and antenna alone where it was first installed at. Is the antenna you think the problem is or the tuner? Cause i seriously doubt the JVC unit is bad, this is a brand new 2nd head unit. So it has to be either the tuner or the antenna like i said. So what do ya'll think?

I would suspect the antenna over the tuner, at this point.

So with the problem either being the tuner or the antenna, you say antenna...even if my antenna is bad, would i still get a " reset8", "antenna not detected", "no signal", etc.... message. Would a bad antenna cause any one of the 3 messages from above or perhapsall 3 of them to display these messages on my head unit? If its the antenna, i want to get the "DEI Micro Antenna", i heard great things about this antenna and that its great. What do you think? I need some help and opinions from ya'll. thanks

I have found that a good number of the SIRIUS Connect units have this problem from time to time. I really believe it's not the Antenna for the majority of them. I'm not sure in this case.

TulaneJeff I think had a similar issue with his JVC.

Did yours come with the 90 Degree Angle Connector Antenna of the Fakra Connector.

I've had issues in the past with the Fakra connectors. Even though they snap in, I think the 90 degree ones hold much more consistently.

Whats the 90 degree angle connector antenna or the fakra connector? I never heard of it, i had it professionally installed at best buy. And if thats the cause of the problem, where can i buy and how much are the 90 degree ones that hold much more cost? Thanks for your quick reply.

Check out tss-radio. They have a large selections of replacement antennas. The new antennas have L shaped connectors like this one...

While others use the older FAKRA connector...

Which kind of antenna plug does your JVC use?
